Dr. Lindsay Parker

I graduated from high school in Jackson, Michigan USA in 2002 with highest honours. From 2002-2003 I attended university in Santa Barbara, California where my studies focused on biopsychology. I further studied behavioural neuroscience at Michigan State University from 2003-2006 and in 2004 spent 6 months attending a study abroad program held at University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. Upon graduation from Michigan State University I became employed full time in their Department of Physiology for 2 years (2006-2008). During this time I continued my education by enrolling in advanced level courses in cardiovascular neuroscience which related to my work. In 2008 I enrolled at Macquarie University, Sydney Australia in their Australian School of Advanced Medicine where I remained for 6.5 years. During this time my projects focused on the neural control of cardiovascular and blood glucose induced stress. I submitted my thesis titled ” The neurochemistry of ventrolateral medulla and sympathetic preganglionic neurons which respond to stress” in February of 2013, graduated in April 2014 and conducted post doctoral research with my PhD supervisor until 2015. I was then a research fellow at Macquarie University in the Centre for Nanoscale Biophotonics from 2015-2018. I am now an ARC DECRA fellow at Macquarie University in the Department of Molecular Sciences.
